Hey there! It has been a little while - my bad! I back on the blog today to recap the rest of my trip to Sedona, Arizona.
Other than being a little farther out of the "hub" of the touristy area (which can be good and bad), the hotel offered all that could be desired - pools, porches, a great breakfast, parking, bikes, etc. I am geniune in saying that I was happy with my hotel stay, and I would recommend it to anyone else visiting Sedona.
Day Two
We woke up in our hotelroom earlier than I normally ever would on a vacation, which was due to the fact that I was still suffering from jet lag. I was glad we did because we could see a bit of the sunrise from our window. The sun came up and reflected off the red rocks making for quite a lovely sight.
We headed to breakfast, which was provided by our hotel, Hotel Arabella Sedona, which I am pleased to say was delicious. They had scones that melted in your mouth (no joke), and eggs that didn't smell horrible like normal hotel breakfast eggs.

After breakfast was finished, we headed to the downtown tourist hub of Sedona. Since I am a Maine girl, I couldn't help but feel like I was in downtown Bar Harbor, Maine, except with a totally different theme, of course. Replace the ocean themed attractions with ones for the red rocks and vortexes, and it is Sedona. I enjoyed walking through the local shops looking at trinkets and clothing items for sale, although I tend to find touristy areas rather overwhelming.
The main attraction of the day was a jeep tour! Sedona is known for their pink jeeps that wander throughout the city and national park. Unfortunately, the pink jeep tour that we wanted to go on was fully booked during our stay. We hesitantly opted for another company that had dark green jeeps. I was pleasantly surprised with how much I loved the experience and this other company. Our driver/guide Sam, was a funny guy that knew so much about wildlife in the area.
I couldn't believe some of the rocky areas our jeep was driving down and up. My mother, aunt, and I kept flying out of our seats. It was like a rollercoast. I couldn't help but scream and laugh the whole time. I recommend wearing athletic clothing that you don't mind getting dusty, and bringing a zip-up bag so you don't lose your valuables on the ride. It. was. bumpy!
Overall, I HIGHLY recommend taking a jeep tour when in Sedona. Don't fret if the pink ones are booked - the Diamondback tour from the Safari Jeep tour company was awesome.

Following our three hour jeep tour, we were exhausted. I grabbed a delicious smoothie (of course) and we headed back to hotel to freshen up before dinner.
We ate at a Mexican restaurant in Tlaquepaque, called El Rincon. I felt enormous after filling myself with chips and salsa, and a burrito. It was a lovely way to end our trip, as we would say goodbye to the red rocks the next morning.
I had such a great time experiencing Sedona with my aunt and my mom. I love to laugh and explore, especially with people I love. I rarely get to see my Aunt Karen, so experiences like this one I hold near and dear to my heart.
On a bit of a side note - I am also grateful that I have the freedom to travel and document it. I love to travel, and I love reminiscing on my past travels. This blog is one of the most special things I will ever "have", next to my personal journal. What I write here is a raw and sincere transcript of thoughts, coming to life solely because of my personal desires. As I reflect on why I started this blog, I realize that there is so much in life that we are "forced" to do - usually because of education or workplace protocols. This blog is teaching me that I find the most joy in things that are what I am passionate about, specifically activities that involve being creative, like blogging about fashion and my travels. My question for you is, what does the REAL YOU like to do? If you could do anything at all, what would you do? This is not to say that I know my answer to this question, because I don't. I do know that I am on my journey to that answer.
As always, thank you for reading. It is my hope that my blog inspires you, in some manner. Whether you are a scientist, teacher, adventurer, soccer player, preacher, daydreamer, or creative (like me!), you have the power to find the good in this world, do what you love, and share it with the rest of us.
Until Next Time,
MM
